Having flown business class a few times (thanks to miles redemptions), this was my first experience traveling with Singapore Airlines (SIA) from Changi to Narita.
Previously, I had flown into Singapore on SIA or flown out with other airlines.
Since flying out of Changi Airport—SIA's home base—promises a different (and arguably better) experience, I figured it’d be a good opportunity to do a short review of the SilverKris Business Class Lounge at Changi Terminal 3.
Location & Layout
The lounge is easy to find—on the second floor of Changi Airport's Terminal 3’s transit area, just near the Louis Vuitton store in the center.
The first thing that struck me was how huge the lounge is.
It’s one of the largest lounges I’ve been to, but despite its size, it was very crowded. Since the lounge serves all Star Alliance business class passengers, it felt very busy.
The lounge is split into 2 sections:
- Dining Area: This is indoors and more enclosed, with buffet stations and seating that reminded me a bit of a high-end food court.
- Barista/Bar Area: This part is open-air and feels much more spacious and relaxed.
I foolishly opted for the dining area because I wanted to be closer to the food 😅
Seating Options
There’s a variety of seating arrangements, from bar stools to individual work pods, to communal tables for eating, which I appreciated. Whether you’re traveling solo and need a quiet spot to relax or are with a group, there’s something for everyone.
Food & Drinks at SilverKris Lounge
I was honestly impressed by the hot food selection here. It’s probably one of the most extensive I’ve seen in a lounge.
I'll be showing some of the lounge food here, but do bear in mind this spread is for breakfast. If you're visiting during lunch or dinner time, the food will vary widely.
Cooked Food Buffet: There were options from multiple cuisines, including dim sum, Western breakfast staples, Indian vegetarian dishes, and fried snacks. It’s the kind of variety that makes you want to try a little bit of everything.
Noodle Bar: This was the star of the dining experience for me. You queue up for freshly made noodles, and there’s even a topping area where you can customize your bowl, similar to Yong Tau Foo.
I had the laksa, and it was outstanding—rich, flavorful, and definitely worth the wait.
Interestingly, the bar/barista area of the lounge also has their own buffet spread, and the food was different from those in the dining area. It looked more like finger food.
The drinks section is decent but didn't really stand out.
Multiple coffee machines dot the space, and I noticed many passengers grabbing their caffeine fix from them.
But I remembered the bar area offers freshly made coffee, so I made the effort to walk over. It was totally worth it—the barista coffee was significantly better than the machine brews.
There are some sweet & dessert-y options as well.
My Thoughts on the SilverKris Lounge at Terminal 3
Having visited quite a few lounges, I’d say the SilverKris Business Class Lounge at Changi Terminal 3 is one of the better ones I’ve experienced in terms of facilities and food.
Here’s what I liked:
- The variety and quality of food. Most of it was delicious, and some dishes were restaurant-standard good.
- The seating was comfortable, and the lounge had a classy vibe.
But there were downsides:
- The crowd. It was packed when I visited at 7+am, which made it feel less exclusive. The dining area, especially, was noisy and bustling—it reminded me of a high-end food court, which isn’t what I’d expect from a business class lounge. I had more comfortable experiences in smaller lounges.
Comparing SilverKris Lounge in Singapore to Other Lounges
I’ve had the chance to visit the SilverKris Lounge at Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi Airport before, and the experience was quite different. While it’s much smaller with fewer food options, the lower crowd level made me feel more relaxed.
Another comparison would be the OneWorld Business Lounges at Suvarnabhumi Airport, like the Cathay lounge and the Japan Airlines lounge.
It’s not as full-featured as SilverKris, but the atmosphere and food were amazing.
Each lounge has its unique strengths, and it’s interesting to see how they compare based on location and passenger flow.

Final Thoughts: Is the SilverKris Lounge worth visiting?
Overall, the SilverKris Business Class Lounge at Changi Terminal 3 is undeniably one of the better lounges I’ve experienced.
From the extensive food selection, combined with comfortable seating and a classy vibe, it’s definitely one of the better lounges out there.
However, the overcrowding can be a real dampener on the overall experience.
If you’re someone who values peace and quiet in a lounge, this might not be the best fit for you.
But if you’re there for the food and facilities, the SilverKris lounge at T3 is definitely worth your time before a flight.
